Who we are

AdobeStock_54013834.jpeg

Social Training and Recreational Sport Ltd - STARS was formed in 2006 and is a charitable organisation with the objectives of improving society through supporting the most vulnerable.

Historically we have supported local authority youth services with a range of activities including sports, dance, drama, and music, to improve social cohesion and reduce local crime. From this work, and with significant input from our recently appointed project manager Michael Corker, we developed a programme aimed at reducing the number of 16 - 25 year olds classed as NEET. Although this remains a new project for us, having started it back in August 2019, we have already seen really positive outcomes and have been supported by a number of funders to whom we are grateful.
